Currently seeking to connect with landholders willing to trial this project at small scale (~50 people), and anyone who is interested in joining in as a contributor. Please note that potential worksites will be prioritised based on location, work required, and partiality to entertainment options. See links at the bottom of this page for Expression of Interest forms.
Please also be aware that depending on support, this project is likely to take considerable time (estimated anywhere between 3-12 months) to fully activate, due to its scale. Do check back regularly for updates, and get involved with organising this if you can, as very little will be shared via communication channels other than this website or our mailing list. If you’re comfortable doing so, you can also join our forum, to chat with others working on the project and provide some moral support.
The name TransForm is a placeholder, if you have a better idea, throw it at us!

The Plan:
To create sustainability-focused gatherings designed to involve the wider community, especially the younger generations, in a rewarding experience of bushland management, property maintenance, and caring for Country, regardless of background or status.
The main focus of TransForm is to return native bushland to its natural healthy state, enabling Nature to regenerate itself and return to balance. This usually involves large amounts of weeding, clearing of ground litter, and occasionally replanting, in severely damaged areas. In addition, the project is open to doing other property maintenance work, such as weeding paddocks, cleaning waterways, or general handiwork as required by landholders.
We have no need for continuing contracts or further use of any site once TransFormed, although individuals involved are encouraged to make future arrangements between themselves if desired.
TransForm is designed to run across 3 days and 2 nights of camping on the land we are working on, with 12 hours of fast-paced rostered work shifts (5 hours Friday, 7 hours Saturday) and 24 hours of relaxation, camping, and entertainment to follow, depending on individual landholder preferences.
Work is completed over the first two days, with meals optionally provided. Entertainment begins on Saturday evening after a shared meal, and concludes 8PM Sunday at latest. Landholders may specify any turn-down times or particular types of entertainment, with the understanding that many potential workers will choose whether to attend and contribute their energy based on what entertainment is accepted or encouraged. Suggestions or ideas for entertainment are welcome from all involved.
Every gathering will be a bit different entertainment-wise – some may be live music for 24 hours, some might prioritise workshops, group activities, or simply a weekend camping on the creek, playing acoustic music and spending time with likeminded individuals. Once a landholder has decided what entertainment they will accept on their land, those details and the general area, along with a preferred weekend, can be shared via our mailing list and/or forum, and if enough interest is shown, a gathering can be organised.
No money need be involved in these projects. Land use for 2 nights of camping and 1.5 days of entertainment is covered by maintenance and bush regen work. Entry to the entertainment zone is available only to those who have contributed fairly to the maintenance work, and is further covered by either generator fuel, a live music set, or toys and equipment to share. Entertainment is provided by some of those who attended the work shifts – we all create the fun together here. Anyone wishing to join in crew feeds will be sent a list of approximately $20 worth of supplies to bring, to add to the cook up and cover costs. No equipment need be externally hired – small-scale equipment is readily available for use within our circles. If you want to play with better equipment, bring it with you to share!
Please note: We do not share your personal data with any third party without your express consent. Due to the voluntary nature of this project, all involvement is at your own risk and no liability will be accepted by Recovery Instinct or any associated individuals. Our intention is purely to have an enjoyable weekend of land maintenance, camping, and play. Please take these points into consideration before completing an Expression of Interest form below.
Recovery Instinct/TransForm’s morals are as follows:
- Leave places we’ve visited in better condition than they were before.
- Keep peace within and between ourselves.
- Love unconditionally, connect honestly, share generously.
- Stand together in unity, rejecting divisive beliefs and attitudes.
- Respect Nature, Country, Elders, Others, and Self.
- Tread lightly, minimising our footprint on the land.
- Protect the little ones and take care of the less fortunate.
- Be nice to everyone or stay at home.
