Crafts

A lot of people ask me about the wild jackets and other kit I get around in.

Yes, I make it myself. I can’t find clothes which do what I need at shops, so I custom make them.

Yes, I take requests and can make them to order. Does take some time – I promise you it’ll be worth it. Anything I wear is guaranteed festival-resistant, comfortable, and functional, and if it does eventually break, I work the kinks out and eliminate them from the next prototype. I am yet to make a wearable piece which I can’t find ways to improve on, and even the kit I wear every day is in my mind, a work in progress.

I do heaps of other craft stuff too, this brain doesn’t like to sit doing nothing. I have rules for making things: whatever I make has to be useful, durable, sustainable, and look wild in the process!

I cop out and make an exception on acrylic yarn here: the stuff is unbeatable. I need to find a way to make it out of the rubbish. Until then, it’s the one plastic based item I can’t seem to shake…plus cable ties. Oh how I love and hate those things…

Eventually I’ll get to uploading a gallery of some of my work. I only ever wear my favourite pieces, so much of this has never been seen outside my house. Who knows, maybe something which doesn’t quite work for me might be perfect for you!
