Hey, I’m Kat. Thanks for checking out my website.
About me:
I spent my childhood running free, homeschooled in the Blue Mountains World Heritage area. Many sustainability concepts are second nature to me because of this – you can’t really spend that much time in a world-renowned natural tourist destination without picking up the idea.
I’ve been working on various sustainability, recycling, and bush regen projects for over a decade. In recent years, I’ve been putting a lot of theoretical knowledge into practice, in order to assist our planet in staying healthy.
There’s a lot of work to do!
This is where Recovery Instinct comes in. It’s a banner to combine all my various projects under, and ideally, encourage others to join in. It’s truly enjoyable to be making a positive difference in our environment, whilst earning rewards – physical, mental, and if you believe in it, good karma for helping tidy up our home.
What is this website for?
Education, mostly. Maybe a bit of networking.
So.
You do know the world has gone a bit insane, right?
This is somewhere to keep all my own data stash, rambles, and ideas about sustainability and our future survival as a species. I don’t use (or trust) social media anymore, the commercial “cloud” storage is completely overrated, and I keep trashing my devices and hard drives by accident. Better to keep a website like I’ve known since I was 12, and didn’t bother doing for another 22 years.
Most of what’s here isn’t publicly visible, but I’ll share the worthwhile bits. I’m usually working on a handful of projects which will be linked through here, you can contact me about work (whether it needs to be done or you want some), and sometimes there might be random stuff for sale. You can dig through (some of) my data stash and get access to whatever research I’m into at the time.
I do see when people interact with the site, but be warned – I have an old habit of checking notifications and then flicking them away without dignifying them with any of the response they need and probably deserve. Oh well. My brain has no capacity to deal with normal-world anything the vast majority of the time, so I’d rather ignore the world than go mad – can’t play if you’re in the padded room. I’ll respond to you in one of those rare moments where my brain acts like an adult instead of hyperactive-ing off into procrastination land again. If you do need me to respond in a decent time frame, please contact me by phone. I’m assuming that if you’re human, you’ll have no dramas finding that on the site. If you’re not…well, good luck.
So now you know what this is all about, go have a look around. It’s my online playground, so there might be anything hiding here.
Don’t fall in a rabbit hole!
– Tha Kat
