Recovery Instinct has grown from an understanding that our world is damaged beyond the point where it can adequately and efficiently repair itself, and that our home planet needs our assistance to fix the damage caused by human greed and disrespect over the last few hundred years.
Many things are currently out of place in our world, from plants growing in the wrong spots (weeds) and animals running loose in country not suitable to host them, to piles of “rubbish” (mostly recyclable resources) left around cities and huge sections of ground flipped inside out on a mad hunt for minerals.
When things are out of place, neither nature nor humans (also a part of nature, though sadly misled) can function effectively. Our world is showing signs of decay. Huge sections of ground have been made unliveable, and all life is struggling to play its part in the great Web. The longer this continues, the more species become threatened and extinct, leaving gaps in the web of life which threaten our long-term health and safety.
Protesting about it is a poor way of effecting real change. Arguing on the internet about what should be done is even more ineffective. The most efficient way to fix a problem is to do it yourself, immediately, without waiting for someone else to do it. This is the purpose of Recovery Instinct: to identify problems which can be solved at an individual, grassroots level, and begin solving them as individuals or work groups, paying no heed to idle chatter.
The projects listed here are those which Recovery Instinct is directly involved with. Some are personal pet projects. Some are community-based projects open to all. Others provide needed income, along with training offered to those interested in helping Nature and Country while earning enough to survive comfortably, without the guilt of causing harm to make profit.
